FBI error : Failed to install CIA file.

So i'm aware this has already been asked about a million times, but whenever i try to install a .cia file i get this error:

Failed to install CIA file.
Result code : 0xD8E0806A
Level : Permanent (27)
Summary : Invalid argument (7)
Module : AM (32)
Desc : Cert signature or hash check failed (106)

but from everything i've read the solution was either to install cfw or that the cia file was bad. Except that I already have Luma3ds cfw and i've tried about a dozen different cia files from...

Unsure on best way to update. Using Luma3DS on 11.5.0-38E

Hi,

Have not touched my 3ds in ages and looking to come back to update it. My System Version is the above and I currently have Luma3DS installed although I'm unsure of which version. Both are obviously out of date and I'm unsure of what the best method of updating is, whether I update Luma first or my System Version. I'm very hesitant to touch anything without some form of confirmation if possible as I understand Nintendo has made some big changes in 11.8 and the last thing I want to do is...

Unsure on best way to update. Using Luma3DS on 11.5.0-38E

Update 11.8 - Failed to Apply 1 Firm patch(es)

So I forget to update my 3ds to 11.7 for half a year without using it, and I wanted to buy a game on the eshop, and then it appearts to be a new update, so when my 3ds restart it just shows:

"An error has ocurred: Failed to apply 1 Firm patch(es). Press any button to shutdown"

Am I screwd?

Reinstalling CFW

I havent used a 3DS in months but decided i wanted to play with it a bit,
so i placed all the stuff i removed from the SD card months ago back on it,
and i got into an emunand. Emu 11.2.0-35.
But i don't exactly know what CFW i have now, or what features i need.
So i kinda want to do a fresh reinstall of CFW.
How do i go about it?

Hi and sorry in advance for my absence of knowledge in regards to this topic.
I recently bought a 3DS with custom firmware on it, and it's on 11.6 right now.
I was able to play pokemon online until about maybe a month ago, and now I need to upgrade to 11.8 to play online.
My device is on Luma v8.1.1 and I think it has B9S.
I read somewhere that if I have B9S, I can update to 11.8 without any problems, but I wanted to make sure.
Also, I am aware that Freeshop is out of service, but all...

Bought a cfw 3DS, is it safe to update to 11.8?

hi guys,

i was a forum member on the supercard website until it got shutdown however, its good to see that these forums continue in another form and with no doubt more knowledgable and helpful members :)

the issue i have, is im on firmware 6.something but im having issues installing games onto my ds two+ card as it seems to hang on the start screen (blank with nintendo sign on bottom screen) when i use the GW internet. do i need to have a specific upgrade in firmware to play games like...

Is there any way to downgrade 11.5.x Sysnand to 11.2 for Gateway use?

Had to replace a couple of N3DS units that my kids used that got fried, new ones both came with 11.5.x and used NTRboot to get them running with b9s and was trying to boot into GW mode and just get a black screen.

Now realize that sysnand (at least I believe) needs to be 11.2 or lower.

My plans are to downgrade Sysnand to 11.2 and then I should be able to get these GW cards working again I assume.

Do I just need to find a N3DS US 11.2 update zip, and use sysUpdate v0.4.2.cia when booted...

Is there any way to downgrade 11.5.x Sysnand to 11.2 for Gateway use?

sysupdater gave me this error code after I tried to install a 9.2.0-20E full firmware pack
never seen this happen in my life before. anyone got some advice/tips for this situation?

Need 1 or 2 flashcarts for 2 New 2ds xl plus a few questions

1) Two cousins live in different states. If I mod my 2ds xl and than visit my cousin can I use the flashcart and mod their 2ds xl, or do we both need our own flashcarts. I do not want to go through the multi flash using another ds. I want to just learn the 1 method and mod both DS's, not learn a new method for the second DS.

2) Another question I am unsure about is, do I put the different files onto my 32gb micro sd card? I don't need to put any files onto the flashcart? Does the flashcart...

Need 1 or 2 flashcarts for 2 New 2ds xl plus a few questions

So ik im dumb, but like I got tured of Homebrew, so I deleted the files on my SD card, as another thread on here said to do, and then reset my ds to factory settings, to get the icons off my screen, cuz they didnt delete, and then i updated my DS, and when i tried to turn it back on, the screen said the title of this thread... Am I screwed, or can i fix this? :,(

So my little brother told me that he tried to update a pokemon game on my cfw 2ds. And of course that the game crashed. He panicked and tried to remove the sd card and insert it back again.. And he actually managed to insert it upside down! I don't know how he did that but he did. so I had to remove the back of my 2ds because the sd card didn't come out. I removed it and then I managed to remove the sd card. I checked with my pc if the sd card is still working and it worked. So I inserted...

So over a year ago i modded 2 of my 3ds systems using the latest luma CFW at the time from 11.1 firmware orso

I recently found a 2ds system in a yard sale for only $6. Unit was dropped and just had a ribbon cable that was ejected so i opened the unit up and connected the cabl back in place and works just fine.

Anyways i wanted to mod this unit, it has firmware 7.1
What would most people advise to use for CFW at this stage?

So here’s the rundown:

I’ve had Luma CFW installed on my 3DS for a couple months and I have 11.7 CFW. I’ve heard that 11.8 will effectively brick your system if you update to it, but here’s my whole thing.
I have zero interest in online games and I don’t even download my games via freeshop; I install all my games, updates, and DLCs using .cia files and FBI. All the games I play are single player and honestly the BIGGEST reason I even installed CFW in the first place was to use VC injections...

Should I update to 11.8?

hey guys im selling my 3ds on ebay and i want to unlink my nintendo id from the system and it says i need to format the system memory the person buying this bought it for the cfw so i dont want to mess it up what should i do here
