FBI error 'FAT operation denied (250)'

Hello, fine peoples!

I just made an account because of this error that keeps popping up when I try to load any cias through FBI. The error is the same as the one shown in a couple threads last year.


  • Failed to install CIA file.
    Result code: 0xC92044FA
    Level: Status (25)
    Summary : Canceled (9)
    Module: FS (17)
    Desc: FAT operation denied (250)


I looked through those ones and tried the solutions posted. However, unfortunately, the only one that appeared to have a working...

Touchscreen doesn't work properly on almost all DS(i) games on my 3DS.

So I was having this weird issue where all my 3DS games worked fine with touch screens and all my DS(i) games failed. Upon further examination, all my DS(i) games register every touch control as a touch on the top-left corner.
What is confusing is that among all the failures (genuine carts and flashcart ROMs alike), DS Download Play and AceKard2i menu worked fine with touch controls despite running in DS Mode (maybe that has something to do with that AceKard being an NTRBoot?). DS Wifi...

Apologies, I've been out of the loop for about 7 years. I had a DS Lite with a CycloDS, a DSI with a DSTWO and Acekard2i and I'm looking to upgrade to a 2ds/3ds.

I'm looking to get "Nintendo Handheld Console - New Nintendo 2DS XL - Black and Lime Green - Pre-installed with Mario Kart 7 (Nintendo 3DS)" and a DSTWO+. Will I have any problems? I understand that some firmwares cause the console to be bricked. I read that you can install new firmwares like Luma but thought perhaps you might need...

Will flashcarts work with new hardware?

This happened today because i'm an idiot who thinks that he can control everything.

I was having very annoying problems with FBI and certain CIAs installation, and it was driving me crazy. I checked on various pages and there was this guy who said that deleting title.db and import.db, then creating new title and import db files was the way to fix it (i bet somebody has facepalmed hard). So i did. The 2DS said the SD card was corrupted an deleted EVERY APP.

Hi! I have a New 3DS XL running Luma3DS and Godmode9 (I think the latest versions of each?).

This all started when I used Godmode9 to make a .cia of a cartridge copy of Miitopia. I then copied and pasted everything on my card to a brand new, larger MicroSD (32gb, formatted in FAT32. Make is Agfaphoto if it matters), since my measly 4gb card didn't have enough space to install Miitopia.

Well, that's all fine and dandy, but when I tried installing Miitopia from FBI, it threw an error....

I know there are a couple other threads about this floating around recently, but I believe the fix for it involves already having Homebrew on the console.

For my situation, the touchpad is working perfectly everywhere except in Japanese Flipnote (so I'm assuming it just doesn't work in all DSiWare). Also, it seems to work in the middle of the screen in Flipnote, but not at the bottom.

I am trying to mod the 2DS but I can't get through the Flipnote part to install bootstrap. This is because...

How to do an efficient system backup?

I have my 3DS hacked and set up exactly the way I want it.

What is the best way to back up the system NAND and contents of the SD card so that it would be easy to recover from serious data loss, but without having to back up the actual 3DS game files, which take up a lot of space?

I wold not mind reinstalling all the 3DS cia's in case of a disaster but would want to preserve everything else.

Hello! I'm a complete noob when it comes to the homebrewing scene. I bought my N3DSXL from somebody else and it was already CFW. I never bothered with the other stuff aside from the games but when I opened the Luma3DS Updater this error message appeared:

"Trying detection of current payload version...9.1-89cc6ed Could not get status code Ref Code: -660561860 FATAL ERROR Failed to obtain required data. Press START to exit."

Being the noob that I am I panicked and thought maybe the next time...

3DS - Finding pointers without Gateway Card?

Hi,
I'm trying to find pointers in Majora's Mask 3D but I got stuck.
I tried using Citra + Cheat Engine + TempAR + Gateway RAM Tools, but the RAM dump from PC doesn't seem to find pointers.
Someone made this amazing pointer but only works with the (USA) version in English (French and Spanish don't work).

File name is too long even after I shortened it what can I do ?

I wanted to install the game Mario Slam Basketball on my 3DS R4 card so I downloaded it. When I wanted to play the game I got the error message that the name is too long and that I have to shorten it. So I tried to change the name but that didn't fix the problem

I don't know what else to do. I already turned off my 3DS turned it back on changed the name of the file several times also deleted it from my sd card and added it back again but that didn't solve the issue either

Do you have any...

So I tried booting up my o3ds to update hax and system firmware, come to find out I have no idea where to start/update first.

upon booting:
I have a9lh installed
luma 5.5
system update 11.0.0-33u

I backed up my NAND before doing anything, then:
- attempted system update, black screen on reboot.
- attemped updating luma to see if it would get me past anything, copied zip of latest release onto the root of my sd card ( the boot.firm and boot.3dsx)
- nothing.
- restored NAND backup
-...

I have not been using my 3ds for a long while...

installed my cart, can't load my save game

after i hacked my n3dsxl, i installed mygames onto the microsd.
now i noticed that the installed metroid returns does not load/see the savegame from the cart.
is the savegame on the cart?
can i transfer it somehow from where it is to be recognized by the installed game?

Hi all. Is someone able to help me with this process? I fear that I may have screwed something up pretty badly and I'd really appreciate it if someone was able to help me troubleshoot.

Short version: I did everything in the instructions, including the instructions for getting the CFW in the first place. But when it game time to load up the latest version of the BootNTR, the first time I tried, it loaded, but didn't respond to anything and appeared to have stalled/crashed. I tried again, and...

Hi, i want to know if there's a way to hack games into my 2DS without internet connection, i'm on 11.0.0, and i can acces homebrew with soundhax.
My wifi card doesn't work, so i can't connect to my wifi without crashing, i've read threads with a similar cases but they are really old and some of the links that people posted are dead.

How to update 'current backup version' (in Luma updater v2.4)

Hey guys,

When I open Luma Updater v2.4 it says my current installed version 10.0.1-c913de1 is up to date (it lights up in green). The current backup version is 9.1 (it lights up in red). How do I update the current backup version?
