Is there any potential progress of exploiting 10.5 for downgrading?

I've unfortunately got a 3DS that semi-bricked and had no choice but to restore it to 10.5. Not a huge deal as it was to replace an o3ds I was going to sell, but still have.

To my understanding I have basically 3 options. Sell it and hope to make back a chunk of my losses (I don't really want to do that), Hardmod it so I can downgrade it from 10.5 or basically put it away in a cupboard and hope one day I'll be able to do something in the future.

I'll probably wind up hardmodding it if...

Is there any potential progress of exploiting 10.5 for downgrading?
