What is the latest way to edit sys/emunand files?

Hi I guess around early 2015 the method was to run a script to extract out the FAT partition from nand backup, then dump the FAT16 XOR key, then XOR pad the partition, then mount it as ISO and start editing, after that do the reverse to put it back.

Any easier tool/method out there now?
